This is a deeply significant question and one that many have wrestled with throughout history. But let us not rely on human reasoning or emotions to answer it. We must turn to God’s Word, which is truth (John 17:17), and let it shape our understanding.

1. There Are No Truly “Good” People Apart from Christ

Jesus said in Mark 10:18,

“No one is good—except God alone.”

From a human point of view, we may consider someone “good” because they are kind, generous, or moral. But the Bible teaches that:

“There is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10).

“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

So when we ask, “Why do bad things happen to good people?” the underlying assumption is flawed. According to Scripture, we are all sinners who deserve judgment. The real marvel is not that bad things happen to “good” people—but that any good happens to any of us at all, considering our rebellion against a holy God.

2. Suffering Exists Because of Sin

When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, sin entered the world—and with it came suffering, death, and pain (Genesis 3). This fallen world is now under a curse (Romans 8:20-22), and as a result, we all suffer in various ways.

Suffering is not always a direct punishment for personal sin, but it is the result of a world that is broken because of humanity’s rebellion.

3. God Uses Suffering for His Glory and Our Growth

For the believer, suffering is never meaningless.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

This doesn’t mean everything feels good—but God uses even painful things to shape us into the image of Christ. Consider Joseph: betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, and imprisoned unjustly. Yet he later said:

“You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good…” (Genesis 50:20)

God uses trials to:

Refine our faith (1 Peter 1:6–7)

Produce perseverance and character (Romans 5:3–5)

Teach us to depend on Him (2 Corinthians 1:8–9)

4. Look at the Cross

The greatest example of suffering happening to a truly innocent person is Jesus Christ. He was perfect, without sin, and yet He suffered more than any human ever has—betrayed, mocked, beaten, crucified.

“It pleased the Lord to bruise Him…” (Isaiah 53:10)

Why? For our salvation.

The cross reminds us that God is not distant from our pain. He entered it. And through Christ, He offers forgiveness, hope, and eternal life.

5. There Will Be Justice

Sometimes we think the wicked prosper and the righteous suffer unfairly. But the Bible assures us:

“God is not unjust” (Hebrews 6:10)

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes” (Revelation 21:4)

There will be a day when every wrong is made right, and those who trust in Christ will rejoice in His eternal presence. This world is not the end of the story.

🖕 The Rise of "Common Sense" Theology

Today, some who call themselves “Christians” attempt to justify their political stances, particularly those aligned with Democratic or progressive ideologies, by interpreting Scripture through a so-called “new” lens: common sense. They argue that biblical teachings must be re-evaluated in light of modern logic, cultural shifts, and political trends, claiming that "if it feels right" or "makes sense" socially, it must align with God's will.

However, this approach often leads to a distortion of biblical truth. Rather than engaging in honest, Spirit-led conversations, many of these individuals shut down dialogue when challenged. They may block or silence those who question their interpretations, creating an illusion of victory while avoiding true accountability. In doing so, they manipulate public perception, often presenting their views as morally superior while subtly undermining the authority of Scripture. This behavior reflects a lack of spiritual grounding and a reliance on human reasoning instead of divine revelation.

📖 The Bible Is Not Interpreted Through Human Logic

The Bible is not a product of human reasoning or common sense. It is a Divine Guide, authored by the Father and interpreted only through the Holy Spirit. This requires:

Intimacy with God

Spiritual discernment

Submission to God’s authority

📖 1. Scripture Is Spiritually Discerned

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” —1 Corinthians 2:14

This verse makes it clear that spiritual truths cannot be grasped by human intellect alone. They require the work of the Holy Spirit.

⚠️ Common Sense Is Not a Biblical Standard

If, as some claim, “common sense” is enough to interpret biblical truths concerning governments and modern times, then even one deviation from biblical order should be a red flag.

Examples of moral disorder:

Legalized abortion

Rampant liberalism

Choosing hatred over love

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil.” —Isaiah 5:20 “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone.” —John 8:7

“Judge not, that ye be not judged.” —Matthew 7:1

📖 2. God's Wisdom Is Not Man's Wisdom

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.” —Isaiah 55:8

“There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” —Proverbs 14:12

What seems like "common sense" may be completely opposed to God's truth. Human logic cannot always discern spiritual reality.

📖 3. Interpretation Belongs to God

“Do not interpretations belong to God?” —Genesis 40:8

Joseph's words to Pharaoh show that only God can give the correct meaning to what He has spoken. This applies to dreams, prophecy, and Scripture.

When hatred is embraced over love, the so-called “common sense” of these self-proclaimed Christians should reveal that they are justifying evil, not following God. They are choosing the path of Satan rather than the Lord.

🙅‍♂️ Rejecting Truth Is Spiritually Dangerous

Turning away from biblical correction or refusing to consider Spirit-led truth reflects not wisdom, but a lack of spiritual maturity and humility before God.

“It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.” —Acts 26:14

The Bible does not teach interpretation based on “common sense.” Doing so would imply that God has no order, authority, or sovereign will, which is contrary to Scripture.

📖 4. The Holy Spirit Is Our Teacher

“But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you... the same anointing teacheth you of all things.” —1 John 2:27

“When he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth.” —John 16:13

These verses show that the Holy Spirit, not reason or consensus, guides the believer in understanding the Word.

“He changeth the times and the seasons; He removeth kings, and setteth up kings.” —Daniel 2:21

“Promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge.” —Psalm 75:6–7

🙏 Final Encouragement

The Bible never promotes common sense as a tool for interpretation. Instead, it consistently teaches:

Scripture must be spiritually discerned.

The Holy Spirit is the believer’s guide and teacher.

“It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in His own power.” —Acts 1:7

I pray the Lord gives you a clear and Spirit-led vision of His will in these times. Blessings!

Many claim to have faith, but their words and actions often reveal a heart dominated by fear and negativity rather than trust and hope in God. Let’s explore the biblical difference between genuine faith and pessimism.

Faith is not emotion or positive thinking—it is unwavering trust in God and His Word, even when circumstances look grim. Pessimism, on the other hand, interprets what is seen through fear and doubt, often ignoring the unseen hand of God at work.

2. Pessimism Is a Subtle Form of Unbelief

“Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?”

— Matthew 8:26

Jesus didn’t rebuke His disciples simply for being afraid, but for lacking faith.

3. Faith Produces Hope, Not Despair

Faith connects us to the living hope we have in Christ. When we live in constant negativity, discouragement, or complaint, we are, in practice, denying what we profess to believe. Faith produces peace; pessimism steals it.

4. Conclusion: Faith Is More Than Saying “I Believe” — It’s Living Trustingly

A true believer may go through moments of weakness, but they do not live trapped in pessimism.

✅️YOU are responsible for evaluating your faith in the light of the Word of God; THERE WILL BE NO VALID EXCUSES!🚫

The problem of religious indoctrination in salvation lies in the fact that it diverts people from the truth of the Gospel of Christ. Many churches and religions have added traditions, human works, or false doctrines, leading people away from the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Any teaching that adds to, takes away from or distorts the grace of God is a dangerous deception.

1. Salvation is by Grace Alone, Not by Works:

Ephesians 2:8-9
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, so that no one may boast."
Even before the law, God considered Abraham righteous because of his faith.

Romans 4:3

For the Scripture says: "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness."
Many religions teach that salvation is earned by human merit, whether through rituals, good works, sacrifices, or religious rules.
But the Biblical truth is this: Only Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Salvation is by grace, through faith, and not by human rules.

2. Adding Human Traditions to the Gospel

Mark 7:7-8
"They worship me in vain, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men."

Colossians 2:8
"See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ."

Matthew 15:3-6
"He answered and said to them, Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? (...) Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition."

Matthew 15:8-9
"These people honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. In vain they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men."

1 Timothy 4:1-3
"But the Spirit clearly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons; speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created..."

Some churches impose human rules not found in the Bible, such as dress codes, dietary restrictions, extreme church hierarchies, or ritualistic practices to “obtain” salvation, when only the Word of God should be our authority in matters of faith and salvation—not doctrines made by men.

3. Preaching a Distorted Gospel

Galatians 1:8-9
"But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed."

Some religions present a false gospel, focusing on issues like material prosperity instead of repentance and holiness. They present a God without justice, where there is no judgment or need for repentance—or a gospel based on emotions and experiences rather than Biblical truth.

The true Gospel is the message of repentance, faith in Christ, and transformation by the Holy Spirit.

4. Spiritual Manipulation and Religious Control

2 Peter 2:1-2
"But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies..."

Colossians 2:8
"See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ."

1 John 4:1
"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world."

John 16:13
"But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come."

Matthew 7:15-16
"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits."

Some churches manipulate their followers with fear, guilt, or pressure, making them dependent on religious leaders instead of Christ.

Our relationship with God is personal, and Jesus is the only mediator between God and mankind (1 Timothy 2:5).

How can we recognize the truth and avoid being deceived?

John 8:31-32
"If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

To avoid deception, we must:

Read and study the Bible to know the true doctrine.

Place our faith only in Jesus, not in institutions or human traditions.

Test the spirits and compare every teaching with Scripture (1 John 4:1).

Seek a personal and genuine relationship with God, based on truth and love.

John 14:6
"Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me."
